Budget 2026 New Student Funding Measures

A number of measures announced in Budget 2026 will result in changes to student funding.

Changes relating to the non-adjacent maintenance grant rates and postgraduate fee contribution grant come into effect in January 2026 and other measures will apply from September 2026.

All measures are subject to legislation provided by the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science.
