Appealing your Grant Outcome
Appealing to SUSI’s Appeals Officer
If you are not satisfied with the decision of your grant or grant review, an appeal can be made to the Appeals Officer.
You have 30 days from when the initial grant decision was made by SUSI in which to submit an appeal. CLICK HERE

Complete same and return with any additional information you have in support of your appeal. The Appeals Officer will make a determination on the appeal within 30 days. The applicant will be notified in writing of the Appeals Officer's determination.
If you are unhappy with your internal appeal outcome you have the option to appeal to the second level of appeal
Second Level of Appeal - The Student Grant Appeals Board
Where the Appeals Officer upholds the original decision made by SUSI and the applicant is not satisfied with this determination, a further appeal may be made to the Student Grants Appeals Board.
The appeal must be submitted on a Notice of Appeal form which is available from the Student Finance website here
Submit a completed Notice of Appeal form together with the written decisions of both SUSI and the Appeals Officer, to the address shown on the Notice of Appeal form. These must be submitted within 30 days
of the date of the Appeals Officer's determination. Additional information may be included but this information should also have been made available to the Appeals Officer.
The Student Grants Appeals Board has 60 days
in which to make a determination on an appeal. The applicant will be informed in writing of the Student Grants Appeals Board decision.
Provision is made in the Student Support Act 2011 for a person to appeal the decision of the Student Grants Appeals Board to the High Court against the determination on a specified point of law
